Most Common Reasons
The three most common reasons are:
- Weekend (Salaried earnings will never update during the weekend)
- Day before payday (DailyPay Balance goes to $0 so we can send you remainder pay the following day)
- Salary Multi-Day (typically 3 business day) Verification Period
What is a Salary Multi-Day Verification Period?
We understand how important timely access to your earnings can be.
Some salaried employees have a multi-business day (typically 3 business day) verification period at the start of each pay period in which earnings will not appear in your DailyPay Balance. This period helps us ensure continued accuracy and availability of your DailyPay Balance, and helps us account for taxes, garnishments, and deductions that may reduce your net pay at the end of the pay period. You’ll be able to see the exact length of your verification period by clicking the bell icon in the app or website and viewing the notification. During the verification period, you will still have access to other DailyPay features (e.g. Savings, Financial Counseling).
At 9 AM ET on the business day after your verification period concludes, the DailyPay Balance will start updating again. For example, for those with a 3-business-day verification period, earnings will begin to appear on the 4th business day after 9 PM ET.
Example
3-day verification period, Bi-weekly pay group, Assume daily shift = $100

Do I have a Salary Multi-Day Verification Period? If so, how long is it?
You can tell information on if you have a multi-day verification period, and if so, how long it is, by looking in your notifications. To see your notifications, please select the bell icon in the upper right hand corner. If you do not see a notification regarding this subject, you do not have a multi-day verification period at this time. If you do see a notification, please open the notification for more information on your multi-day verification period and how long it is.
When will my DailyPay Balance be updated if I have a Salary Multi-Day Verification Period?
You start to accrue funds at 9 PM ET the business day after your multi-day verification period is over. For example, for a person with a 3-business-day delay per pay period, they will start to accrue funds on the 4th business day after 9 PM ET.
Why isn’t all my money available on the business day after my verification period ends?
This is to ensure continued accuracy and consistent availability of your DailyPay Balance and to account for taxes, garnishments, and deductions that may reduce your net pay at the end of the pay period.
What happens if my pay period starts on a weekend and I have a Salary Multi-Day Verification Period?
The multi-day verification period will start on the first business day after the start of your pay period if your pay period starts on a weekend.
For example, if your pay period starts on a Sunday, and you have a 3-business-day earnings delay, your multi-day verification period starts on Monday and your DailyPay Balance will start to increase on Thursday (4th business day) after 9 PM ET.
In addition, please note that salaried employees will not see earnings update on weekends regardless of the multi-day verification period.
I sometimes have access to two pay periods at the same time (rolling balance). How will this impact my earnings access if I have a Salary Multi-Day Verification Period?
After you have taken your first transfer and finished your first pay period with DailyPay, you may retain access to your previous pay period's earnings until the day before the previous pay period's payday. This is referred to as rolling balance. This means you may see earnings in your DailyPay Balance remaining from the previous pay period while the multi-day verification period for the current pay period is happening, and therefore see earnings even during your multi-day verification period.
